If there was any question after year one, then the second annual North Coast Music Festival affirmed that it is here to join the ranks of Chicago’s premier summer festivals. The festival developed more of an identity this year with its electronic-oriented lineup while still managing to break off into the hip-hop, indie, and jam arenas.
The crowd was an integral part of the atmosphere with audience members sporting outlandish outfits, elaborate totems to bring their groups together, and non-stop enthusiasm for whatever was going on in front of them. When Friday’s heat and Saturday’s rain drove the rest of the city indoors it was time for the North Coasters to rage.
