IMFmag Presents: Exclusive.Mix.05 featuring Mawashi (Mixtape)

It’s a brand new year, and maybe our last one on this earth, so lets not waste time listening to horrible music. Let your resolution be fulfilled and step into the world of EDM with IMFmag. For those following or keeping count we’re now on our fifth installment in the Exclusive.Mix.Series and its been a wild ride so far. We’ve offered up a speaker melting dubstep classic mix from Glitchdick/CTL*, we then took a trip through the world of Moombahton with the Wobble Lovers, sipped a chilled martini and got grown and sexy with Mister Gavin, while Wax Motif made sure we knew who’s House it was, but today we travel all the way to Santiago Chile for this oddio sampling.

This month’s Exclusive mix comes from the super duo of Pancho-G and Bruno Borlone, collectively known as Mawashi. These Chilean maestros of the decks have put together a real special mix for us featuring original productions and Mawashi remixes. There music is an amalgamation of various styles from Electro to Techno, House to Dubstep and all mixed with the attitude and energy of Rock’n'Roll. Get your headphones on and prepare to break a sweat as we dive deep into our Exclusive Mix #5 featuring Mawashi.

Pancho-G and Bruno Borlone, better known as Mawashi was formed in late 2007 in Santiago Chile and since then they have taken the EDM scene by storm in South America. Mixing styles from Electro, techno, house, dubstep and rock. While many have compared them to a Latin version of Jus†ice, I would definitely have to agree and disagree at the same time because they’re just so much more. In 2009 the group won at the convention of Sello Azul and dropped their first LP, which garnered much acclaim. Along with radio and TV air play from MTV to Radio Zero and 40 Principales, Mawashi has performed with some of the biggest names in EDM from Jus†ice to Girl Talk, Fatboy Slim and everything in between. Mawashi has a huge fan base and this months Exclusive Mix will surely get them even more fans state side.

Mawashi has been releasing material since they formed back in 2009 starting with the “Mawashi” LP and the “I Wanna Rock” EP. Then in 2010 they released their “Chilean Remixes” EP, and most recently they dropped the “Elektropikal” EP. Along the way Mawashi have offered up some killer remixes of SebastiAn’s “Motor”, Mr. Oizo’s “Rubber”, and their latest remix of Jus†ice’s track “Ohio” which we premier here over the Holidays. As their popularity keeps rising and live shows keep the crowds rocking out, the sky’s the limit for Mawashi. 2012 just started and looks like Mawashi will be doing big things in this new year as it was just announced that Mawashi will be performing at Lallapalloza Chile in 2012. Who’s booking tickets!? I’m definitely going!
