In less than 72 hours, EDM fans from around the world will be uniting to celebrate one of the nation’s largest, diverse, and award winning music festivals – Ultra Music Festival. UMF will be returning to downtown Miami with Bayfront Park as its new location in order to accommodate a larger footprint for increased capacity. Over the last few years, the festival took place at Bicentennial Park, but after a record-breaking 150,000 in attendance in 2011 the organizers have decided to celebrate it’s 14th edition in the tropical, waterfront park nestled between Biscayne Bay and Biscayne Boulevard. After bringing the festival to a new level in 2011, UMF made tickets available for purchase before announcing phase one of the lineup. Within days, tickets for three day general admission sold out, as well as the $599.99 tickets for three days VIP admission, making Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida officially sold out.
IMF Magazine is excited to be attending this year’s festival and have provided our fans with a full-length preview of what to expect this upcoming week in the 305. UMF 2012 will conclude this year’s Winter Music Conference which began on March 16th. Throughout this week, Miami is taken over by artists and music industry delegates attending various events ranging from the International Dance Music Awards, seminars and DJ Spin-offs to networking events, panels, workshops and club events and parties all with the single goal of continuing to advance the industry. Each day will be helmed by world-class headliners including acts like Tiesto and Kraftwerk Friday, Justice and Avicii Saturday and David Guetta and Armin Van Buuren concluding the event on Sunday. We’ve made a list of the artists were most excited to check out at Ultra in no specific order: Pretty Lights, Tommy Trash, MiMosa, Knife Party, Big Gigantic, Erick Morillo, Zeds Dead, Dada Life, Paper Diamond and Bassnectar.
One important fact regarding Winter Music Conference – Miami does not sleep. Between the pre-festival pool parties, club events and late-night after parties there will always be somewhere to dance in Miami this week. We’ve done some of the legwork for you, below is a guide to both UMF sponsored events* as well as some of our favorite events to get you through the next 6 days. We highly recommend you purchase tickets ahead of time for each event, most parties tend to sell out before the show!

For those who will not be making the journey to Miami, there will still be some things to keep you entertained. On Thursday March 22, UMF will be premiering their documentary, “CAN U FEEL IT – THE UMF EXPERIENCE” in 400 theaters nationwide. You can take a quick look at the preview here or head over to the website to purchase tickets. of you who can’t make this years festivities, head over to UMF’s YouTube Channel where they’ll be streaming the festival.
