Founded in 2004 at Ohio University, the number fest has grown to become the biggest college music festival in the United States. This may be the 20th one I’ve heard this week and I’ll admit I couldn’t have been less enthused when I first saw the title pop up in my browser. HOWEVER…TheFatRat is quickly becoming one of my favorite up and coming producers in the scene these days and this remix supplies a FAT dose of his signature Disco/Electro House flare. Gazburn drops another beat blender on internets today, this time Gazburn gets the party started with his latest called “Dancin’, Groovin’”. A keen ear will definitely get the feel of Daft Punks “Harder Better Faster Stronger” in the melody but once the beat drops a nasty dirty baseline will take you places you only thought you could reach at Ibiza. Our favorite Chilean duo of Mawashi set fire to the dance-floor with their remix to Barretso’s “Chase”. It’s a mix of various styles including electro, dubstep, and indie-rock. Their remix gives the track an electrifying movement for the dance-floor. “Chase” will be definitely finding its way on to my new playlist.
It’s always interesting to watch an established artist in his own lane take the leap and enter another. And that’s the case we see with EWE aka Louis La Roche and his “How We Became Us” EP. Louis La Roche is mostly known for his incredible French House sound but its definitely refreshing to see the project move in a different direction. It’s more of a mix between trance, house, drumb&bass and dubstep but you be the judge. Take a listen and download it for the great price of free99.
U-Tern just finished off his Australian tour and put together this “mid-week” mixtape for all the Jackers, Bassheads, and disco house freaks.
