On August 15th, 1977 a message was received on the 420 MHz frequency at the Big Ear radio telescope at Ohio State University. The signal bore the expected hallmarks of non-terrestrial and non-Solar System origin. Tracing its origins and interpreting the message contained has proven to be impossible task until April 20th, 2012 when the message was repeated, S.E.T.I. scientists report. Analyzing the signal and transcribing it, the message relayed…
“TRILLWAVE will ascend as ▓▒░ reflections ░▒▓ of the TRΔPGΩDZ to the ђยмαи гєαlm with one mission: to convert humanity to the sacred ␚ βΔSS ҒRΣQUΣΠCIΣS of the TRΔPGΩDZ”
With it’s origins hailing from some distant trill future where the world has been deconstructed into ZΣRΩS and ΩNΣS; it was seen as a prank by the scientific community. However, when the sun rose and the approaching low end frequency made contact on the first Friday of September, those attitudes were changed as the wave hit the NET. That’s right! The next piece in the Exclusive.Mixx series fell right into play with TRILLWAVE’s plan to convert the world. Hit the break to be informed of the coming calamity and find some hidden special gems.
Doobz continues his push with his latest project, The Demo, and this time around he drops off the visuals for “Turning The Page”. The black and white backdrop shot and directed by Jonny Walker features Doobz as he takes to the mic with this soulful tale. If you haven’t already go and download or stream The Demo after the break.

In an ancient folklore it was once said that if you bathed naked in the morning dew on the morning of June 8th you will keep aging at bay indefinitely. However under scrupulous inspection at the IMF offices it was noted that the ancients had it all wrong. Key elements ‘morning’ and ‘dew’ were both mistranslated to lead astray the bass hungry masses leaving them helpless, naked and withering away.
Yet, here we are on the verge of June 8th and IMF has teamed up with SAV (formally of the group Sazon Booya) to eminentise the eschaton with the next volume in the Exclusive.Mix series. Bringing to the forefront a showcase of music that will expand your vision and audio canals into realms not experienced before. With all fnords set aside lets just say you’re in for a heart pumping all out audio war. So get your hands up, hit the break and always remember ‘Never whistle while you’re pissing’.

The month of the Bull is upon us and that can only mean one thing; get ready to take flight! Sit back, take small sip on this hauntingly-hip-hop-influenced-blurry-and-atmospheric-soundscape-audio-bass-experiment and let your third eye open as we dive deep into the subconscious with our latest Exclusive.Mixx featuring UNKWN.
Sometimes our 120BMP world needs to be slowed down a bit and that’s what UNKWN has done with his mix. Transporting us onto new sonic levels sacrificing his late hours trapped away in his loft studio in the heart the Danish capitol to bring us this truly incredible mix. Touching bass with the likes of Rihanna, Para One, Cam’ron, Ciara, Zebra Katz, Sweater Beats and a slew of bass drenched remixes, UNKWN has sought to make a balance between beats and sounds, creating a harmony, that’ll place him into the fine company of seapunk and chillwave acts, such as Shlohmo and xxyyxx. Hit the break for more info on our latest feature, some cover art, and of course a few bonus materials.
Do you smell that? That fresh, bright, less menacing breeze flowing? You’re right, Spring is inching its way closer. We think. For a majority of our community this is also synonymous with the coveted festival season, summer tours, and the endless list of late nights and early mornings. April’s IMF Exclusive featured producer BUHAY’s sound and style is comprised of that similarly exciting spirit and groove that makes wearing a coat to shows for 5 months worth it.
Buhay is currently based out of Bloomington, Indiana while wrapping up what I heard might be the the final days of the best years of ones life. Considering his appearances on past Glowfeset and Chicago’s North Coast Music Festival bills as well as the upcoming Hyperion and Bounce Music Festivals coupled with already having already shared the stage with Above & Beyond, Paul Oakenfold, and Paper Diamond to name a few it would be safe to say Buhay, which translates to “long life” in Tagalog, has the best years in front of him.

Major Lazer and friends landed in Chicago on their second stop to Free The Universe from the evil General Rubbish and left the Congress Theater in a blaze of smoke and lasers. With opening acts Gent & Jawns, Dragonette, Dj Zebo and Rookie Fresh — which any one of them could easily headline and command the crowd — there was never a dull moment. From the ‘Lazer’ light show to the hamster balls, a stage full of girls expressing themselves, down to the infamous Harlem Shake hit the break for a full recap!
With Groundhog day in the bag and all the hoopla surrounding a supposid early spring — which mother nature said screw you and dumped all of winters snow into one chaotic month/week — we might have forgotten, but in the eternal words of Bone Thugs ‘…wake up, it’s the first of the month…’ So lets give thanks and bring on our monthly
sacrificial lamb Exclusive Mix to the good people of IMF.
This month’s exclusive mix features DJ Totally Stoked — a 26 year old Miami transplant slash artist dot dot Brooklyn based DJ — who’s sole purpose with this and all her sets is to get all the ‘bad’ bitches to scream out “THATS MY MOTHAFUCKIN JAM!” With that in mind lets just jump head first into this, and trust that this modern day renaissance woman — just check the resumè — is about to set it off! Hit the break for all the goodies on everything Totally Stoked, including a tracklist, and several flavors of cover art done by Carly Andrews and dEMOx.
Well its 2013 and we are all still here. What was all the hype about, JEEZ! But just in case the calendars were off I still took off for an entire month deep down in my mind library eating nothing but bass and beats. Since my time away, I had plenty of time to think, ponder and I’ve reached an epiphany. WE MADE IT! Though the weather seems to be on strike and the back up weather unit is on the field calling the plays in the city of wind. So I dust off the crumbs and head back back to reality.
It’s a new day and a new month and that could only mean one thing at IMF. Thats right, we are back at it again with a brand new mix for our exclusive mix series. This time around we got the dirty bass bubbling heart pumping Brooklynite slash android — 2Beeps — to lay down a super exclusive mix. Packed with so much energy that it comes with a warning label of bodily injury due to high levels of that Brooklyn BASS!
It’s always been about the music and 2Beeps delivers like no other. Make sure those post apocalyptic bunkers are easily accessible because you’re in for a wild audio assault that the Mayans and Hopi Indians predicted. Hit the break to get familiar with our featured DJ/Producer 2Beeps!
