DAILY 09/13

Its now been one year since the world lost a musical genius and all around positive force in the world of constant televised negativity. Whether you were a close friend or one of the millions of dancing bodies around the world, we were all moved by a force like no other when the DJ Mehdi was around. Most of the time in death we all realize the impact a person has on the world and especially a figure of Mehdi’s stature, however in life it was clearly evident that Mehdi had something special about him and it can be heard with every four four rhythmic pattern he ever produced. His presents was infectious and when he DJ’ed a party there was nothing better because you knew it was going to be a phenomenal experience. Before the times of mass appeal and media spotlight on the likes of electronic dance music, Mehdi was a pioneer. Blurring the lines between hip hop, house, soul and everything in between. It was about the love and forever that will be. So whether you’re new to the scene or a veteran, hit the break for just a taste of what DJ Mehdi was and will forever be from the ones he influenced to the man himself. M ∞ ❤

First I would like to share that our thoughts and wishes go out to Mehdi’s friends, family and the Ed Banger crew. Today started off with some tragic news about Mehdi Faveris-Essadi, better known to the world as DJ Mehdi. It has been reported and now confirmed by his Publicist that DJ Mehdi has died following a fatal accident in which he fell from a roof at his home in France.

The incident happened last night and has shocked the dance community. News of his death came via a series of French news websites and Twitter today. According to DJMag, he was on the roof of his home in Paris with a group of friends celebrating the birthday of Riton when the roof collapsed.

Scores of high profile DJs including Diplo, Mr Ozio, A Trak, Chromeo and Felix Da Housecat have been paying respects via various social media outlets. The Paris Social Club posted the following message to their Facebook page: “Following the death of DJ Mehdi, we have made the exceptional decision to close the club tonight. An evening of silence in honor of the artist. Thank you for not commenting on this status.”

This tragic event has left everyone who ever listened, followed and enjoyed DJ Mehdi, at a great lost. The words that Dust La Rock and Diplo spoke via their twitter truly capture my feelings about the life force that DJ Mehdi was. And I’ll leave you with them.

“The letters R-I-P don’t really do justice to the life force that was Mehdi”

“I can only see mehdi smiling.. He was always so happy he always smiling in all my memories he did everything with so much positivity”

Yesterday you got a sample of Riton with his new mixtape I Love The Future and today lets give a little love for the past with Carte Blanche. Composed of UK producer Riton and the French track-master Dj Mehdi. Politrix As Usual was released last year on the “Black Billionaires Remix” EP, but it’s still killin’ em everywhere they drop it, just listen to that sample.
