DAILY 06/12

With a little less than two months until Lollapalooza, fans already have a hand on this year’s schedule. As we all know, this year’s Lolla is stacked with dance music. Most of these artists will make their appearances at the Perry stage. Friday Night is crazy starting at 3:15 with Zedd then leading into Madeon, Porter Robinson, NERO and Bassnectar (can you guess where I’ll be?). The fun begins again at 3:15 on Saturday with Paper Diamond, B.o.B., Skream & Benga, Calvin Harris, Santigold at Perry’s and Avicii closing down on the Bud Light stage. Sunday is just as strong as the previous two days with Perry’s being taken over by Kid Color, DJ Nihal, Nadastorm, Little Dragon, Doctor P, Big Gigantic, Zeds Dead and Kaskade. Justice and Miike Snow will also be performing on other stages Sunday night.

Just incase you can’t dance enough at Lolla, there’s plenty of late night shows for you to attend. We’ve broken them down by day here. For more information on tickets and pricing, head over to do312

DAILY 06/08

Shot and Edited By Andre Velez

On May 21st, IMF continued it’s work in the community alongside Hustle Simmons, Reebok & A.G. Public Relations as we embarked on the second Hustlepalooza Increase The Peace Day of 2012! This time around we visited two inner city elementary schools in the Chicagoland Area, Frazier Preparatory Academy & Ruiz Elementary. Our team, which also included Dasan Robinson (MLS Champion), Stephanie Gonzales (Reebok), J. Nice (B96), Brandon Breaux (Ends/Wealth Corp.), held assemblies at both schools to raise awareness for the senseless violence that occurs in each neighborhood daily. During each assembly we also allowed the students to interact and give opinions and/or ask questions that they may have. Thanks to our event partners from Reebok we were also able to have giveaways at each school which allowed a few lucky students to go home with free shoes, t-shirts and bags!

DAILY 06/01

Day 3
I woke up from a much needed ten-hour sleep to find myself feeling surprisingly well. Today was the third and final day of the festival, and I was ready to get going. We decided to leave a little later today and took the 2 PM. The train wasn’t nearly as crowded as Saturday, but I wasn’t worried; I knew it would still be busy. We strolled right through check-in this time around, with no wait. It looked like we were the early arrivers but I was wrong. The place was packed already, possibly even more so than Saturday.

Bobby Burns
We immediately danced on over to the cicruitGROUNDS tent, which today was hosted by JACKED. Bobby Burns had already begun spinnin’ his tracks, and the tent was packed. I had never seen him before but you could instantly tell that his style and mannerisms were similar to Afrojack’s, since they’ve spent a lot of time together producing their signature track “Ghettoblaster”. His 90-minute set started off the day with a bang, and it was only about to get better.

Hit the break for the rest of Day 3!

DAILY 05/17

With blooming flowers, sun showers and the weather shinning brighter than ever, it can only mean one thing, spring is amongst us and of course to those audio inclined; the start of the summer music festivals. To kick off what will be a most memorable summer here in Chicago, React along with the Congress Theater present the Spring Awakening Music Festival, Chicago’s first all dance music festival. You might have heard or even attended the original Spring Awakening back in 2008, but with EDM’s take over the past few years it looks like the Congress Theater wont have the room to ‘house’ (pun intended) the masses. So they’re moving it outdoors into the beautiful Soldier Field and extending it to a two-day festival.

Knowing the track record of React Presents and the incredible acts they’ve brought to Chicago in the past year, one thing is for sure, the biggest names in the collective EDM scene will definitely be gracing the stage. You don’t have to take my word for it, just look at the line-up! With legendary DJ/Producers like Benny Benassi, Carl Cox, Laidback Luke, and a rare DJ set from MOBY along side a brand new legion of EDM artists and top tastemakers from around the world like A-Trak, Diplo, Kill The Noise, Designer Drugs, Afrojack, and of course the three time Grammy winner dubstep maestro Skrillex. Those acts alone could suffice the average EDM audio junky but Chicago, the birth of House music, the pillar of everything EDM is definitely being represented rightly with sets from Willy Joy, Krewella, Lobounce, and the eye-in-the-sky-mustached-duo controlling the dubstep masses, Midnight Conspiracy.

With four stages now added, the date slowly approaching and my little preview of the massive two day line up I’m sure you’re level of anticipation has reached critical mass. So hit the break for IMF’s definitive guide to the orchestrated chaos that is about to go down from the after parties to places to fill your belly with some good eats and beyond at the Spring Awakening Music Festival in Chicago starting June 16th and 17th.

DAILY 05/16

It seems like as soon as Coachella started making it’s way out of everyday conversations, the organizers behind the event are back with the announcement of Coachella 2013.

Once again the festival will take place over two consecutive weekends – April 12-14 and April 19-21. The first round of tickets will go on sale tomorrow at 12PM CST. Tickets will be available starting at $349 for General Admission and increase depending on what package you would like. Tomorrow is also the only opportunity to take advantage of the Coachella Purchase Plan. With ticket prices being that hefty, it’s convenient they have added what we call the “wookie-plan.” All the information you need to purchase next year’s tickets can be found here.
