As if you already thought we would never actually get a debut album from J. Cole, he recently revealed to Rap Up that he is gearing to drop a mixtape before letting loose his legitimate album. The NC emcee says he simply has too much music that he wants to let go of, and of course he does. He hasn’t even dropped anything but mixtapes yet. Maybe I’m a bit salty in delayed anticipation, but hopefully we get it sooner rather than later.
While in preparation of his debut album, Cole sits down with two media outlets to discuss topics from his latest single to production, hit the jump for the second video.

Cole on his return to the London’s Wireless Festival this weekend, having torn down the Pepsi Max stage for his second year running, to discuss the theory behind the title of his debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story [out on September 27], his fans’ mixed reactions to the project’s lead single Work Out as the follow up to Who Dat, and his understanding of the need to “play the game to change the game” with radio-friendly tracks without compromising the quality of his finished album; swearing, “I’m not gonna have an album full of pop records… I would quit before I did that.”

The only word we really have surrounding the collaborative track between Wale and J. Cole is Wale’s consistent excitement surrounding, posted on Twitter. The two up-and-comers shot the video out in California recently, and fitting to the title, Bad Girls Club reality TV star, Natalie Nunn is said to have played the lead.
