During one of the many radio/promotional interviews Rozay and the MMG sat down for, the crew speaks with Justin Credible & J Cruz about, of course, Self Made Volume 2, name dropping MJ on “Power Circle,” Michael Jackson’s importance to their careers, Miami Heat staking claim on this year’s NBA championship, that awkward moment when Chris Bosh poured champagne on himself, and lastly, Meek Mill’s debut LP Dreams & Nightmares.

For the most part, Rick Ross does make good on his word when it comes to putting out LPs, whether it’s his own, or compilations from his collective, MMG. With Wale’s Ambition approaching gold and Meek Mill’s buzz louder than ever, Ross deemed it appropriate to position his Warner-distributed label for another winning season by dropping a second installment of the popular Self Made compilation series, which welcomes new labelmates Stalley & Omarion. Missing here is last year’s MMG rookie and first lady, Teedra Moses, but truthfully, her presence was barely felt on the last one, so perhaps there are unique plans for her. At any rate, Volume 2 is here, as promised. How does it sound? Well…
Rozay and the rest of his MMG soldiers held a Self Made 2 release party in the Big Apple at Alife’s Rivington Club, and in case you weren’t there to witness it or the stream, Nigel D/RealTalkNY has a five minute recap of the shindig where the fellas performed new cuts from the brand new album.
With the Maybach Music Group regime’s newest album Self Made 2 now in stores, the untouchable crew roll out a pair of visuals for two of their buzzin’ singles to celebrate and accommodate the release of the project. Ya’ll can head over here to grab your copies.

Deemed as the man with the golden touch – the biggest boss you’ve seen thus far –scores another XXL magazine cover, this being for their publication’s July/August issue. In the issue, which hits newsstands on July 14th, the Maybach Music leader-in-charge chats with XXL Executive Editor Jayson Rodriguez on his forthcoming album, God Forgives, I Don’t (due out July 31st), health scares, and managing being a solo artist and label head.
Similar to Currensy and Waka Flocka LP’s, both of whom had offered full streams of their respective projects, the MMG regime follows suit for the second installment of Self Made, which hits stores everywhere next week on June 26th. After hearing it a second go-round (first being at Sin City), it still hits the spot and, most importantly, my wallet and pockets. A definite cop right here. Stream it up above and do yourself a favor by purchasing it here.
Sin City Cabaret was definitely the place to be this past Wednesday, as Ricky Rozay and his MMG crew held a private listening session for their much anticipated Self Made 2 project due June 26th. As the bottles popped and strippers dropped it low for a buck or two, several big name artists (Busta Rhymes, French Montana, Drake, DJ Khaled) and tastemakers (Elliott Wilson, DDotOmen, Lowkey, Shaheem Reid, Ernest Estime, Blogxilla, BDot Miller, David Amaya, etc) partied the night away as the exceptional record spun loud and clear through the speakers. In case you weren’t there to witness the action, here’s a quick recap courtesy of yours truly at IMFMAG. And a special shout outs to Statik Selektah for the drop.

Gunplay, Stalley, Wale, Meek Mill & Ross get a dope verse from Kendrick Lamar for the nearly 9 minute intro to “Self Made 2.”
