Marijuana has been around for quite some time and it seems to me that in recent years, more and more hip-hop artists have fully embraced it’s use and the culture surrounding it. I understand that this isn’t anything new to hip-hop, artists have named albums after it, ie. Dr. Dre with his Chronic series, but these days we’ve seen an influx of artists who are taking it to the next level. Insert the gentlemen on the Smokers Club Tour.
Curren$y, Big K.R.I.T. and Smoke DZA have been making their way across the United States to perform their individual projects and in some cases, joint projects. No pun intended. I recently caught up with them at The Bottom Lounge here in Chicago a few weeks ago, and lets just say I left the building with a new cologne on. To keep things simple and to the point, the show was dope and I suggest you venture out to see them when they stop by your city. Until then, enjoy the shots I took from the show.
Naledge of Kidz In The Hall is getting ready to drop his new mixtape Naledge Is…TwentySomething tomorrow which also happens to be his birthday. If you’re interested in hearing more material from it you can check out the EP version on iTunes right now and then head back here tomorrow to download the full mixtape. Naledge is also throwing a mixtape release/birthday celebration party here in Chicago tomorrow so lookout for some exclusive footage of that event sometime next week. Spotted at nahright.
Off their upcoming Revelations mxtape from LA’s Co$$ and Ft Lauderdale producer Numonics, here is the first leak presented by 2dopeboyz, PONY International and Crooks & Castles. The project also includes features from Blu, Reks, Naledge, Big K.R.I.T., Freddie Gibbs, Sene, Wrekonize and Shawn Jackson. Looks like something ill to look forward to. Artwork done by this dude name Jah.
Last Tuesday, Kidz In The Hall came up to visit DJ Tony Touch on Toca Tuesdays. Not only did they let Tony world premiere two new records, but Naledge stepped up to the challenge of being put on the spot.
