Ne-Yo has had quite a busy year. While working on his upcoming 5th album R.E.D. he has also been adjusting to his new role as Senior VP of A&R at Motown Records. Hopefully November 6th marks the start of the rebirth of Motown as one of their newest artists is frequent IMF featured artist BJ The Chicago Kid!

With Ne-Yo’s resurgent album R.E.D. less than a month away from release, the Grammy winning crooner keeps the music coming from the forthcoming set, and fresh off his collab with Wiz Khalifa, this time he turns it up on the dance floor infused joint “Forever Now.” R.E.D. is now available via pre-order on iTunes and will hit shelves on November 6th.
Similar to fellow R&B singer Chris Breezy, the proud daddy, Ne-Yo, also made his way onto 106 & Park to debut a clip — this one being for his latest single “Lazy Love” (below) — which is taken from his pending album R.E.D. due this September. Speaking to Terrance about the inspiration behind the visual, the conversation segued into some discussion about his deal with Motown Records, taking a position as an record exec at Motown, having Adrienne Bailon under his wings, his favorite songs to perform, whether he’d ever consider being a judge on a reality show, his maturation in relationships from a young adult till now & more.
Far removed from our short-fused memories is “Libra Scale,” Grammy winning singer Ne-Yo’s fourth solo album – which, in all standards did not quite match up to his previous projects within his noteworthy catalog. Destined to redeem him-self on this go-round, the “Miss Independent” crooner resurfaces with a risqué single, “Lazy Love,” an intoxicating bed-room steamer taken from the singer’s much anticipated opus R.E.D. (acronym for Realizing Our Dream) intended to hit shelves on September 18th. Working alongside a slew of hit-makers, Ne-Yo, who has enlisted Jim Jonsin, RedOne and frequent collaborators Stargate for the forthcoming set – will entertain his fans with 12 brand new tracks of material – with 4 additional songs set to live on the deluxe edition. Jeezy and Ne-Yo pretty much let loose a movie for their collaborative single “Leave You Alone.” The footage highlights the relationship struggles of a particular female, sort of like a modern day Romeo and Juliet — or, something like that. Stream the TM:103 cut above. Enjoy.
For the lead single off the soundtrack to Steve Harvey’s inspired flick, Think Like A Man (in theaters April 20th), a more-than-ever confident Jennifer Hudson recruits Ne-Yo, Rick Ross and his grunts for her latest visual, which bares the same name of the movie, and was directed by famed lens-man Chris Robinson.
