Can you keep up with the pace of this funky little number from Santigold and The Knocks. It’s always a treat to hear what The Knocks come up with on a remix, the way that they take tracks and add just the right amount of essence to keep to the original while flipping a dancefloor like no other. “The Keepers” is just another example of the incredible talents. Turn up the speakers and burn it all down!
Last week we had the pleasure of checking out the uncapped series from vitaminwater and FADER Magazine. The Chicago stop was held in a small warehouse in the west loop and guests were greeted with an open bar and all the vitaminwater they could handle. After some tunes courtesy of De La Soul’s Maseo, Santigold made her way on stage with her band and dancers following close behind. Her set was composed of bright floral outfits, dancers included, a horse, and a few wardrobe changes to compliment her music.
After a short break in sets, the energetic crowd anxiously awaited Maybach Music Group’s Wale to hit the stage. His DJ appeared and began to ask the crowd if they were ready for Wale in the midst of playing “Mercy”. The crowd promptly began shouting “Lamborghini Mercy”, the DJ wrapped it up, and Wale hit the stage dropping some of his early records like “Pretty Girls” and then moving along to some of his new material like the Ross infused “Fuck Em”.
After a great evening it left me thinking, wow, this was so much better than last year’s uncapped event and I know I wasn’t the only one who left thinking that. If you missed out this year, you have next year to look forward. Be a little more swift on that RSVP and you won’t get left behind. In case you did, we have some photo-goodness after the jump!

The remixes keep on coming for Santigold’s latest single “Disparate Youth”. This time The 2 Bears add their own punched up rhythms and darkness into the mix. A hypnotic thumb piano and a wicked drum pattern will definitely keep playing in your mind long after the song is done. A big thanks and shout out to the Annie Mac show for letting this joint loose for a free music Monday download.

Get ready to take a trip as Switch drops a psychedelic remix on the Santigold’s latest “Disparate Youth” single. The track is completely spaced out and sounds like something Juicy J might jump on unofficially. If your world seems a little out of control at the moment pop Switch’s remix and let your troubles fade away. Pre-order Santigold’s new album Master of My Make-Believe on iTunes.
Get ready for some 3Ball as Dj Javier Estrada twists the excellent Santigold record “Big Mouth” around his fingers. Turning the original on it’s head and adding just the right amount of spice to serve up an oddio dish of tropical rhythms that will keep the carnival vibe going on into the wee hours of the night. This has to be the best remix of “Big Mouth” I’ve heard yet.
