Following weeks and weeks of STS’ solid remixes/flips/renditions of our favorite chart topping hits, without further ado, here’s goes his full length 15 track project, “Goldrush.”
10 weeks ago, Sugar Tongue Slim began his #GOLDRush campaign by setting his sight towards flippin’ some of music’s most popular records and making them his own. What started off with Wale and Rick Ross soon followed with weekly snippet #GOLDRush flips on the likes of Coldplay, Big Sean, Drake, Britney Spears as well as international mainstays like Tinie Tempah, Kavinski and Gotye. Here now is the 15 full-length flips in their entirety. The GOLDRush is produced by The Starting Line Up [ MPIIIMusic, DJ BearOne, Schoolie V, Eric Hahn Solo, Danny Gallardo, Ayden and Marz138 ] and features cameos from Asap Ferg, Dosage and Kardinal Official.
Another week, another ill flip by Sugar Tongue Slim:
After hitting Canada to flip Drake’s “Marvin’s Room”, STS rolls over to London and gets introspective over the atmospheric vibe provided by producer Eric Hahn, who flips the xx’s infamous “Shelter” for the hook.Directed by David Mack, the video follows a night in the life of STS as he preps and performs for fans at Philly’s Theatre Of Living Arts. The full-length version of GOLDRush will finally be released on Feb 29th. Until then, the GOLDRush flips continue…
After making some promotional tour stops in France with Kavinsky and Australia with Gotye, Sugar Tongue Slim continues the international leg of his GOLD Rush by touching down in Canada to flip Drake’s “Marvin’s Room,” and a touch of Beyonce’s “Party”. Flipped and produced by MPIII, “Threw A Party,” includes cameos by the Roots, and Big Daddy Kane, to name a few. Directed by David Mack for GOLD Films.
While K.R.I.T, Sant and STS cooks some hot shit in the studio, 3 Little Digs managed to catch them on free time and chops it up with them. Watch as three of hip-hop’s southern elites take a brief moment to discuss some of the finer things in life.
While in Miami to perform at “The Rising”, STS linked up with Dre Films and Last Rights to create the visuals for the acclaimed track “In For The Kill”. The song, originally featured on “Demand More 2″, showcases Slim’s dedication and perspective on his art form as a MC. The video encompasses this theme and the visuals match the chilling feel that the instrumental provides. Very dope video.
Continuing in The Rising music series, STS pairs up with his fellow performers (Wrekonize, J.Nic$ and Ya Boi Chad) to do a new record to commemorate their upcoming September 9th performance at Transit Lounge in Miami. Backed by a gritty beat by one of The Rising’s curators, Numonics, each MC drops an exclusive verse showing exactly what it means to be a part of “The Rising”.
Make sure to come out September 9th (Transit Lounge, Miami) to check out live performances from STS w/ Ketchy Shuby, Wrekonize, J.Nic$ and Ya Boi Chad!
