DAILY 11/13

It’s going to be quite the Wednesday evening this week in Chicago as two of Hip-Hops greatest invade Congress Theater for a night of unbelievable live music. Dubbed the “Life Is Good/Black Rage” tour, it takes its name from Nas’ new album Life Is Good and a new song from Ms. Hill titled “Black Rage”. The tour kicked off at the beginning of October in Columbia, MD and when they hit Chicago tomorrow they’ll be on their last leg of it.

This is one of those rare shows that you should probably grab tickets to because who knows when you’ll ever be able to see Lauryn Hill again. Head over to ClubTix to snag a pair, but if you want to take your chances, our good friends at React Presents have hooked us up with a pair to giveaway to 1 lucky reader. Interested? We thought so.

What is the Sónar Festival you’re probably wondering. Well we’re here to assist and to provide a few of you with tickets courtesy of our friends at React Presents. Sónar is the International Festival of Advanced Music and Mew Media Art created in 1994, which is held in Barcelona for three days every June. So of you may already know about it, but my guess is a lot of you don’t.

The festival has regularly travelled beyond Spain’s frontiers since 2002, with events in different places around the world, adapting the Sónar philosophy to unique venues and environments, and highlighting the most interesting homegrown talent and the scene in the city where it takes place. As well as the event in Barcelona, Sónar organizes festivals every year in other cities, including São Paulo, Tokyo and Cape Town. In previous years, it has travelled to London, Frankfurt, Seoul and Buenos Aires, among many other destinations around the world.

Sounds pretty cool right? We’re blessed that they’re making a stop in our beautiful city this Wednesday which also happens to be the night of All Hallows’ Eve. Grab your tickets, put on your costumes, and come listen to some of the best electronic music in the world at the infamous Congress Theater.

It seems as though Yelawolf can’t get enough of Chicago, or maybe Chicago can’t get enough of Yelawolf? Either way, Live Nation and Knuckle Rumbler tapped his Slumerican Tour to hit the House of Blues tomorrow night along with Rittz, Trouble Andrew, and ShowYouSuck with support from the homies at JUGRNAUT. If you missed Yela throwing down at the 2012 North Coast Music Festival, here’s your chance to make up for it. Doors open at 7:30 with the show kicking off an hour later at 8:30. DAILY 10/22

After first emerging in 2009 with sultry summer reworkings of Bag Raiders’ “Turbo Love”, The Lowbrows’ “Dream In The Desert”, Toecutter’s “Best Party Ever”, The C90s “Shine a Light”, Flight Facilities truly came into their own when they produced Crave You with Giselle Rosselli. They capped off their breakout year with a well-deserved SMAC Award nod for “Best Song of 2010”, a Kitsune Maison Release, and finish inside the top 20 tracks on Australia’s biggest radio poll; Triple J’s Hottest 100 2010. Touring 35 shows across Europe & two Japanese tours.

In early 2012, Flight Facilities successfully toured around the US, selling out the majority of the 24 shows including appearances at SXSW and the Miami Music Conference. This Friday, October 26th, they’ll be hitting Primary Nightclub along with Kid Color and Fleege courtesy of React Presents and we’ve got a pair of tickets up for grabs. Not a bad way to kick off Halloween weekend right?

DAILY 10/10

The LONGLIVEA$AP Tour is live and in full effect after Rocky kicked things off last month in Providence Rhode Island. He’s making his way all around the states with support from Schoolboy Q, and that gapped-tooth dude named Danny Brown. The whole A$AP mob will be in attendance as well. What’s a rap show without all your homies on stage right?

As we find ourselves in the midst of the Fall season, a lot of us our finding ourselves wondering where Rocky’s debut studio album is as well. The answer: coming soon. Or is it? After some push backs, I think it’s safe to say we’ll get it before the calendar hits 2013. In the meantime, we have plenty to enjoy from the LONGLIVEA$AP Tour as it’s sure to get a little rowdy considering the artists on the bill. I’m envisioning a lot of purple, gold, and the sweet smell of Miss Mary going up in puffs all throughout Congress Theater tomorrow night.

In one of the earliest shows I’ve ever seen, the doors open tomorrow night at 6pm. It’s also an all ages show so for those of you who find yourselves missing all the action because you don’t have the right to vote yet, come on down. Big thanks to Knuckle Rumbler and React Presents for putting everything together and allowing us to hook some of our readers up with some tickets. For those of you who don’t win, you can pick up your tickets here.

As usual, follow us on Twitter and tweet the sentence below to enter. We will pick 2 winners tomorrow at 12 noon CST for a pair of tickets each.
