The fashion industry “night of nights” also known as the Met Gala took place last night in New York City. The annual event which celebrates the opening of the Metropolitan Museum of Art Fashion Exhibit at The Costume Institute was packed with A-List stars in their best duds. This year event took on a punk theme honoring the “Punk: Chaos to Couture” exhibit opening Thursday May 9th and running till August 14th. Hosted by the fabulous Beyonce A.K.A. Sasha Fierce and with a performance by Kanye West this year event was at another level compared to years past. I have taken the time to scour the net for the best dressed men from last night event. Starting with John Krasinski (pictured above) from the office rocking his newly discovered beard and Tom Ford suit. See the rest of the best dressed after the jump!
Paper Diamond is probably one of IMF’s most well-documented electronic producers (check out more of our coverage on him here) and once again he does not disappoint with his latest EP, ‘Paragon’.
This 10-track compilation is a welcome addition to his discography whose most recent release was a hard-hitting trap style mix delivered before his winter Night Vision Tour. Paragon incorporates a familiar soulful and upbeat style that is reminiscent of Paper Diamond of years past that can be heard throughout the album.
Highlights include the hip-hop/dubstep track ‘They Can’t Tell Me Nothing’ and ‘Like A Summer Breeze’ that reminds listeners of his roots in the Pretty Lights Music Label family. In true Paper Diamond fashion, he’ll be running through the US tearing up dance floors throughout the summer so make sure to catch him soon — you can check out the closest show to you here.
Nothings better than getting around to that one artist that you knew should have listened to before but you haven’t, and when you do, it’s amazing. Markus Schulz’s latest mix is a progressively digital soul and trance compilation that is one of the best I’ve heard this year. Markus’ ability to establish a harmonic mesh throughout the 2 hour mix makes it a smooth but strong ride.
After years in the underground DJ circuit around LA, Destructo has recently broke into the festival scene with an appearance at Snowball Festival and HARD festivals all over the country as one of the festivals’ curators. Destructo released an extremely well produced deep house mix for us to gear ourselves up for the warmer weather ahead. This is definitely one of the best mixes I’ve heard this Spring.
The growth of people identifying themselves as Sneaker Heads has reached an all time high. David Hart, Mercedes-Benz fashion week from Josh Davidsburg on Vimeo.
David Hart is one my favorite designers given his love for adding flare to the two most prominent menswear accessories, the tie and the pocket square. This video contains his full fall/winter 2013 collection that he unveiled last month during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. As a guy whose favorite department store is Bloomingdale’s I can not wait for them to get this collection in stock.
