DAILY 02/23

In anticipation of Terius Nash aka The-Dream’s next full length solo record, “Love IV MMXII: Diary of a Madman”, the Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter emancipates the slick new visual for his newest single “ROC (Rock That Body),” which will be featured on the forthcoming LP and will be released digitally via iTunes on March 6th. In promotion of his upcoming album and “Kill The Lights” tour (also a name of a track on the new album…info below), he’s been currently making rounds in the Big Apple plugging the record, and in the midst of that, he talked to the.LifeFiles in the backseat of his Mercedes Maybach, and discussed the all so familiar industry gibber jabber about the Illuminati, speaks on some jewelry he recently purchased Rihanna, the reaction to the “Birthday Cake” remix, and more.

Via Billboard:

In the meantime, The-Dream will embark on his Kill The Lights tour, a three-week trek that kicks off on March 7 in Greensboro, N.C. celebrating the “Roc” single release. The name of the tour was inspired by a song of the same name that will appear on “Love IV,” and may get spun off into its own entity. “We came up with the name of the tour, and then immediately after that, I said, ‘I’m gonna write a song called “Kill The Lights” so it goes with the tour,’” he says. “That turned into three other songs, and now I have a ‘Kill the Lights’ CD that may come out. So it was like, ‘Oh my God!’ I just keep putting myself in these predicaments.”

I’m still on the fence with this single, but like many of you, I’m eager to hear what he offers just when the entire album drops, because he has a chip on his shoulder and a lot to prove this go round. Also, under this he speaks with Sway as a guest for this week’s MTV RapFix, and discusses his role as the new Def Jam VP, how the label’s longevity and past-time success fueled his decision to take the position, the Rihanna & Chris Brown “Birthday Cake” remix, his forthcoming album Diary Of A Madman, and more. Hit the deck for the rest.

Look for the full visual premiering tomorrow on Vevo, as well as on BET’s 106 & Park.

Last year went down as a big one for MMG’s poster boy, Meek Mill. Aside from being critically appraised by peers, and let’s not forget the accolades he picked up along the way (MTV’s Hottest MC’s List), this 2012, will in fact be the Philly native’s defining year in his flourishing career. As he cooks up the sequel to his Dreamchasers mixtape series, he’s been also crafting his much anticipated debut album, now scheduled for a Summer-scorching release, all the while taking over cities and stopping by events in the mix. Here’s a clip of him attending Cash Money’s pre-Grammy party last weekend, followed by he and YG’s own Grammy festivities at Club Colony. This is all in a day’s work for Meek Mill.

You million Hov enthusiasts may be all familiar with Mr. Pain In Da Ass, so quite fittingly with a thematically mafiaso-title of these sorts, “The Pain,” Square Off dig in the hip hop crates and somehow manage to pull a cameo by the incognegro-esq fellow for their Cory Gunz assisted clip, which is lifted from the Money Moet and Memories project, available now.
