We’re kicking your 4th of July Holiday weekend off with some fresh gear and some dope music to go along with it. “Good Times” is the first leak from Anatomy Magazine’s “The Great American Mixtape” available July 13 produced by Mick Boogie & Terry Urban. The mixtape incorporates highly visible rock music across the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s that resonate well with American culture.

The final product is a fresh and new interpretation of hip-hop music with re-evaluated soundscapes through envelope-pushing rock instrumentals. The mixtape features emcee talents such as Freebass 808, Aleon Craft, U-N-I and other return collaborators from previous Mick Boogie and Terry Urban projects. Instrumental appearances include American cultural icons such as Guns & Roses, The Beatles, Van Halen & Led Zeppelin and many others.

“My Story” is the latest leak from Phil Ade’s upcoming project The Letterman which is set to drop July 6th and will be hosted by Don Cannon. Phil takes you on a journey back to when the rap game began for him and it’s over some pretty funk-infused production.

In preparation for his upcoming album Sir Lucious Left Foot: Son Of Chico Dusty which drops July 6th, Big Boi has been hitting the internet with several projects to give you a taste of what you can expect from his new project. Last week we posted a unique project he was featured on courtesy of Mick Boogie, where his songs were blended with Rick Ross and vice versa. It turned out to be a very ill mixtape and I’m sure this one is going to be just as good. Tracklist and download link after the jump!

Asher Roth recently made his own remix to “Hot N’ Fun” but now a new collection of remixes has found it’s way onto iTunes as well as Amazon for purchase. This is the Yeasayer version, but the collection includes versions from Crookers, widely known for doing a remix to Kid Cudi’s “Day N’ Nite” among other things, as well as Hot Chip, Nero, Starsmith and more. After listening to the Yeasayer remix, it’s safe to say this collection should be really dope.

I have to admit, when I first heard this song on the radio it was met with a “WTF?” look at my boy who was riding in the passenger side. Naturally it began to grown on me the more I began to hear it. Here we have the remix which is almost DJ Khaled size and it features Jermaine Dupri, Bow Wow, Red Cafe and B.o.B. Forgive my ignorance and my inability to Google what it means to “dougie”. Anyone care to share? Spotted over at OS.
