DAILY 06/07

Since I’m not in New York, I was unable to make it to the annual Hot 97 Summer Jam show which is by far one of the biggest events of the Summer. So I resorted to just cooling at home and following along my East Coast Twitter family’s tweet’s about the show. I thought like most did, a Dipset reunion would be witnessed by every attendee, but the event came and went without any sort of reunion from the Dipset camp so it left people thinking “what happened, where was the reunion”?

At the New Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey, Jim Jones was denied entry into the venue. To some this isn’t all too surprising since Jimmy is banned from 90% of venues in the tri-state area according to Freekey Zeekey. Or maybe it has something to do with the Summer Jam 2009 fuckery which included Jim Jones yelling at a police officer that he was Sean Bell.

When Freekey was asked whether everyone was on-board for a full-blown reunion, he replied, “Everybody,” continuing, “Basically The Diplomats thing is gonna straighten everything back out—the trains is back linking together.” However, he stated that the crew has yet to record any songs together. “We’re trying to get the right track because we gon’ come back out and kick the world’s ass,”. – XXL

The Capo is back and this time he’s equipped with a Summer anthem but the clean version. Jimmy lists off some of the greatest things about the Summer which happen to be some of my favorite things too. Top down, riding around with the music on blast, clean sneakers, you get the point.

DAILY 04/19

Last week Miss Info received a phone call from two friends who had since shared a well known beef with the public. Jimmy Jones was sitting in the front seat of Cam’s car (probably that pink Range, or something along those lines) when he told Miss Info he had some things he needed to get off his chest. Check out the excerpt below.

Jim Jones said: “It’s 2010, and this is something I gotta get off my chest…You’ve known us from back when we didn’t have what we have now, so you remember, that above all, me and Cam, we still brothers. And we’re building on getting back on track but first, I apologize for being a rude brother, for saying things publicly without first trying to handle them privately. I apologize for not leading by example because what I didn’t realize at the time, I was venting but it wasn’t all about me. There were other people whose dreams were also part of this movement. So by not leading by example, they were left stranded too. The way I handled our business issues was with emotion, and it got totally f–ked up. That’s what selfishness does….”

This is just a small part of what Jimmy had to say. Head over to Miss Info’s to check out the rest. This sounds pretty legit to me and Jimmy does sound sincere so hopefully everything goes well. I’d love to hear some new music from the two of them and maybe we’ll see a little Dipset reunion. Summer Jam anyone?

This is for all of our east coast readers – it looks like Jimmy Jones, Juelz Santana and their entourages will be putting on a benefit concert for one night only in NYC. All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross. It’s too bad it can’t be the classic Dipset putting on a show, oh well. Go get your tickets already.

Juelz, Jimmy and some dude named Tobb Cobain go in over Drake’s ‘Forever’ and give it that Harlem flavor. The video is pretty hilarious also, make sure you check it out. It definitely isn’t safe for work either so for those of you sitting in your cubicles, you’ll have to wait until your boss goes home for the day.
