DAILY 12/04

This past Friday I was invited to T.I.’s private listening session in Miami where the ‘kang’ himself played more than half of the tracks on the album, excluding a few we’ve already had in our iTunes. I’d like to go on the record to say that from what I heard, fans will be satisfied with this body of work. I even recall him stating during the session that if he wanted to put out an album 6 months ago he could have, but he wanted to take his time with this to prove all the critics wrong who felt he was falling off – and he might’ve done just that. As the listening came to a close, I got the chance to sit down with T.I. for a chat where he speaks on the expectations he had for himself on this album, the choice for the cover art, the possibility of him doing an album fully produced by DJ Toomp and more. We wrap up our brief chat with the final question, “do you still think you’re the king of the south?,” which I got quite the answer to.

DAILY 07/02

T.I. sits down with DJ Skee for an over the air interview, rocking a Chicago Bulls hat mind you, and mentions how LeBron needs to go somewhere where they haven’t won a championship so that he can claim it as “his town” similar to D. Wade’s situation down in Miami. T.I. also goes on to say that if LeBron does go to Chicago, he has to win 7 rings, Cleveland has a lot of work to do if they want him to stay and if he comes to Atlanta they’ll close church on Sunday. Personally, I hope he comes to Chicago. That’s all.

“$5,000 suit, and I got on my new hater repellent cologne.”

The track dropped a month ago, now we have some visual entertainment to go along with it. Look for The-Dream’s upcoming album Love King, in stores on June 29th.

DAILY 05/25

I don’t know about the rest of you but I’d rather look at an image of Keri than Clifford. “Got Your Back” is the third single from Tip’s upcoming album King Uncaged which is set to hit stores on August 17th. Of the records we’ve heard from the album thus far, “I’m Back” is probably the best thus far, but that’s not saying a whole lot. It’s just an “OK” record to me. Am I the only one? Shouts to Splash.

Mr. Harris sat down with Larry King and had quite the discussion last night. He spoke to Larry King about the gun situation, growing up, being a father and speaking to the youth around the country. Definitely a good interview. Now T.I. needs to feed the streets with some ill music. Hit the jump to check out the rest of the interview.

Tip presents the latest video for his first single “I’m Back”, off of his upcoming album King Uncaged which hits stores August 17th. I don’t know what the rest of you think, but that’s a terrible album title in my opinion. He already dropped King, why not pick something a little more original.

Via XXL:

“According to TMZ the rap superstar will be under 23 days of “supervised release,” which means he will have to be home by 11 p.m. every day, and 1 a.m. if he is performing. Tip still also has to clock in 400 hours of community service and he will be on probation for the next three years.

The Grand Hustle general began serving his time last May. As XXLMag.com previously reported, he was released to a halfway house last December. Since then he was allowed to serve out the remainder of his sentence on house arrest.”

A curfew? Damn. I suppose that’s a lot better than being in jail for a crazy amount of years. Glad Tip is out and about to put out some serious beats.
